The Faculty of Law of the Banaras Hindu University (later named Banaras Law School) has not lagged behind and since its establishment in 1923 and has constantly played a significant role in revamping the legal education and is ranked within top ten law schools in India including national law schools. The Banaras Law School was one of the 6 universities in India to start clinical legal services. 

 

 

 

Army Institute of Law

Army Institute of Law (AIL) was established in July 1999 under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES).The Institute runs B.A.,LL.B. 5-year degree courss in law, primarily for the wards of servicemen and ex-servicemen of Army. One-fifth of the total number of seats is available to wards of civilians. Of this, 15 per cent are reserved for residents of Punjab and 5 per cent for rest of India.

The School of Legal Studies, established in 1962, is one of the oldest departments of the University. It was formed as a part of Kerala University, offering post-graduate courses and research in law. This law school joined the folds of the University of Cochin when it was established in 1971.

Hidayatullah National Law University 


CITY: Raipur  
Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, was established by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the Hidayatullah National University of Law, Chhattisgarh, Act (Act No.10 of 2003). It is a residential university and is sixth in the series of National Law Schools in India. HNLU has been included in the list of the universities maintained by the University Grants Commission.

 

 

Faculty of Law , the ICFAI University (ICFAI Law School) 


CITY: Dehradun  
The ICFAI Law College is a constituent of the ICFAI University. The ICFAI Law School, Dehradun commenced with the first batch of five-year integrated BBA LLB programme in 2004, with due approval and recognition by the Bar Council Of India.

 

 

Faculty of Law, University of Kolkata 


CITY: Kolkata  
This faculty comprises only the Department of Law. Established in January 1909 as the "University College of Law," it was granted the status as the Department of Law of the university in February 1983.
