Indian Institute of Technology


CITY: Kanpur  
Established in 1959 as one of the first Indian Institutes of Technology, the institute was created with the assistance of a consortium of nine leading US research universities as part of the Kanpur Indo-American Programme (KIAP).

The institute was established as College of Engineering and Technology, New Delhi, on August 21, 1961. It was upgraded as an Indian Institute of Technology in 1963.

IIT Roorkee is the oldest technical institution of Asia. Established in 1847, it was given University status in 1949 and, in 2001, was converted into an IIT. IIT Roorkee has 18 academic departments covering Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management programmes.

CITY: Surathkal  
The National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, is an autonomous university. It was founded in July 1960 as a joint venture between the Government of Karnataka and the Government of India, under the name Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC), Surathkal. Today, it is one of 18 National Institutes of Technology in India.

Vellore Institute of Technology, popularly known as VIT, comprises seven schools offering 17 undergraduate programmes and 28 post-graduate programmes with an emphasis on Engineering and Technology and 13 research centres in disciplines like Rapid Prototyping, Manufacturing, Product Design, Energy, Biomedical Research, Information Technology and Nanotechnology.

Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, is an autonomous engineering and technology-oriented institute of higher education located in Ranchi. It is affiliated to AICTE, ACU, AIU, PCI. It has an annual intake of 2,955 students in undergraduate courses and 1,013 students in postgraduate courses.

Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) is an autonomous institution of the Government of NCT of Delhi. It is affiliated to Delhi University and formally comes under the purview of Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi. NSIT was formerly known as Delhi Institute of Technology (DIT).




International Institute of Information Technology


CITY: Allahabad  
The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, was established in 1999 by the Government of India. The institute was conferred Deemed University status in 2000, empowering it to award degrees following the setting of its own examinations.

International Institute of Information Technology

VeerMata Jijabai Technological Institute(VJTI)


CITY: Mumbai  
Established in 1887, the V. J. T. Institute started with only two departments--the Sir J. J. School of Mechanical Engineering and the Ripon Textile School. The first step in the expansion of the Institute was taken in 1903 when courses in Electrical Engineering were introduced. The Technical & Applied Chemistry Department was added in 1906 and Department of Sanitary Engineering in 1914. Housed in Byculla till in 1923, the Institute moved to its present building at Matunga.




KJ Somaiya College of Engineering
