| University at a Glance... Established on 2nd April 2003, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa is named after Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal, the former Deputy Prime Minister of India and the former Chief Minister of Haryana. |

| There are 16 teaching
departments with 40 courses in the University. The University has
very well equipped library, laboratories and hostels for boys and girls.
Well-known, reputed and experienced academicians and professionals have
been associated in preparing the academic curriculum of different
courses.
The University has two Teaching Blocks comprising of nearly 100 class
rooms, tutorial rooms and rooms for teaching and supporting staff
(each), VIP guest house, Vice Chancellor’s residence and 87 houses for
the teaching and non-teaching staff and four well-furnished hostels for
boys and girls. It houses Science Departments such as Physics,
Chemistry, biotechnology, Food science & Technology, Computer
Science, Energy & Environmental Sciences and Mathematics. The
University has developed its own Media Centre equipped with hi-tech
gadgets. An impressive main gate has been inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief
Minister of Haryana on 2nd August 2009. Te University has ATM facility
of State Bank of India. Medical facility is made available to the
students employees through a regular appointed Medical Officer.
The University has adopted innovative methods in the conduct of
University examinations. The University has also made a distinction in
timely declaration of results. The students of this University have
shown commendable results in scademics as well as co-curricular
activities. With the present pace of progress already acquired the
University looks forward having a promising future.
ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
The University offers the academics programmes in the area of Technology, Management, Commerce, Law, Mass Communication, Humanities, Social Sciences and Education mostly at the Post Graduate level. All these courses have been designed in consultation with luminous academicians especially taking consideration the special needs of the society and the professionals world. Emphasis is laid on both theoretical and practical training. The University also offers Ph.D. programmes in the departments. HOSTELS At present, there are four hostels in the University: two for girls and two for boys, namely, Harki Devi Bhawan (Girls Hostel-I), Kalpana Chawla Bhawan (Girls Hostel-II), Lala Lajpat Rai Bhawan (Boys Hotel-I) and Sardar Patel Bhawan (Boys Hostel-II). 800 (485 Girls and 315 Boys) students are residing in the hostels
LIBRARY
A good library is the backbone of an educational institution. Enrichment of the University library is a top priority. The Library at present has a total collection of more than 25,767 books for M.Tech (Computer science & Engineering), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Science (Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Food Science & Technology and Energy and Environmental Science), Master of Business Administration, Master of Commerce (M.Com.), Master of Laws (LL.M.), Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.), Master of Arts (English, Economics, Public Administration, mass Communication and Education), Bachelor of Laws-3 year Professional, Bachelor of Laws-5 year integrated course, Master of Business Administration-5 year Integrated Course, M.Sc. Economics-5 year Integrated course, M.Sc. Mathematics-5 year Integrated course Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Bachelor in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.), BA Mass Communication, PG Diploma Mass Communication etc.
WELFARE SCHEMES
The University ensures proper implementation of various schemes of the UGC / Government of India / State Government concerning admissions, scholarships etc. for the welfare of the students of reserved categories. The guidelines as revised from time to time by the University Prospectus for the benefit of the students belonging to SC/BC community.
NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEMES
National Service Scheme (NSS) is a noble experiment in academic expansion. It includes the spirit of voluntary work among the students and teachers through sustained community interactions. At present there are two units of NSS, one at University Teaching Departments and another at Chaudhary Devil al Memorial Government Engineering College, Panniwala Mota and request has been sent to the quarter concerned for opening of two units of NSS.
